Fotowatio Italia and Solesa Green Power for the biggest solar plant in the Rome province:
10 MW Financed in Fiumicino
Turin, 17 February 2010. Fotowatio Renewable Ventures, multinational company leader in the solar energy business, continues its investment in Italy. The Italian subsidiary of the group, headed by Andrea Fontana, has signed a financing contract for the construction of a 10 MW photovoltaic power plant in Fiumicino (Rome), in partnership with the Italian Turin-based company Solesa Green Power.
Fotowatio Italia and Solesa Green Power close on a 44 million Euros deal for the construction of the biggest solar plant in the Rome province – and one of the biggest in Italy -, supported by top level financial institutions in a project financing operation.
“The Fiumicino plant confirms our will to invest in Italy in the long term”, says Andrea Fontana, country manager of Fotowatio Italia. “We have already successfully competed five 1 MW plants in Puglia. The deal signed in Fiumicino is a further step to strengthen our position in Italy as global key player in the solar business. It is also an important contribution to help Italy to increase its energy production from carbon-free sources, more sustainable for the environment”.
The construction of the plant in Fiumicino, commissioned to Siliken, will begin between March and April, and the plant is scheduled to be operative by the end of 2010: with a production of 14 millions kWh it will satisfy energy demand for about 2,700 families.
Solesa Green Power goes to America looking for new opportunities & partners for the American market.
Solesa Green Power will be in America from the 15th to the 20th of October , this first road show will start in the state of New Jersey and the state of New York . The target of the tour will be focused on the evaluation of the new challenging and emerging american market and on the research of eventual american partners to face this new opportunities pushed by the new incentivations wanted by President Barack Obama for renewable energies. At the same time S.G.P will evaluate and look for new possible american investors.

SOLESA GREEN POWER : twelve projects for a total of 76 MW in authorization process
Fly Energy & SOLESA, after one year of joint venture in the development of 10 MW solar park in Lazio Region, the two companies decided to found and create SOLESA GREEN POWER, an engineering company that will develop photovoltaic solar parks for a total power peak of 76 MW under authorization process by 2009 and further 48 MWp in 2010.
SOLESA GREEN POWER has developed and it is costantly developing partnership relations with the most influent renewable energy european investors in order to financing, developing and building solar energy production sites in Italy, East Europe and North Africa. SOLESA GREEN POWER vision is to become a small player of green energy production.
Carlo Garuzzo, Giangherardo Aprile, Alfredo Giardina, Marco Stroppiana and Mr. Renato Iodice are on the board of commission, a dedicated group of 12 professionist ; engineers , agronomist , environmental doctors, geologist are able to develop 10 MWp project per month for the request of ” autorizzazione unica” . More than 360 hectars have been selected and optioned all around Italy.
The first solar park of a total power peak of 11 MW will be in conference of services the 25 th of June 2009.

FLY-SOLESA: authorization for the development of 76 MW in 2009
FLY-SOLESA pushes the accelerator in Italy to development large solar parks. In 2008 FLY-SOLESA has presented a request of authorization in Italy for 21 MW, with the objective to start the construction of 12 MW in June 2009.
The pipeline for 2009 is very busy: there will be a presentation of request of authorization for the only photovoltaic solar park for 56 MW before March 2009 and the remaining 42 MW by September 2009.
The goal to reach by 2010 is 100 MW, in which FLY-SOLESA believes to have 10% of it. The true competition, other than the involved bureaucracy, is to put into function the system before the end of 2011.
The relationship with renewable energy investment funds, the banks despite the crisis are giving signs of openness, partnership agreements with major system integrators increase our capabilities and therefore we must accelerate as fast as possible the authorization process.
The assumptions are present, we have created a great team of high level professionals with many years of experience we have grown fast. We have particularly focused on certain regions and on large installations. It will be a great challenge for us as but with great enthusiasm and passion for solar power that is instilled in us. We have the driving force to confront the tremendous and complex Italian bureaucracy. FLY-Solesa team.
